There were a total of 2,76,756 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Visakhapatnam Turpu, Vizag, Vizagapatam, Visakha, Waltair Assembly election, of which 1,35,735 were male, 1,41,004 female and 17 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,72,448 registered voters, of which 1,35,735 were male, 1,37,544 female and 22 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 2,56,776 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,29,651 were male, 1,27,118 female and 7 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 2,02,447 which included 1,01,882 male, and 1,00,565 female.

In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Ramakrishna Babu Velagapudi of TDP won in this constituency beating Akkaramani Vijaya Nirmala of YSRCP by a margin of 26,474 votes which was 15.23% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Ramakrishna Babu Velagapudi of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Vamsi Krishna Srinivas of YSRCP by a margin of 47,883 votes which was 28.77% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Ramakrishna Babu Velagapudi of TDP won this seat defeating Chennuboina Srinivasa Rao (Vami Krishna) of PRAP by a margin of 4,031 votes which was 2.92% of the total votes polled for the seat.
