In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Kiliveti Sanjeevaiah of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Dr Parasa Venkata Rathnaiah of TDP by a margin of 61,292 votes which was 31.76% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Sanjeevaiah Kiliveti of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Parasa Venkata Rathnaiah of TDP by a margin of 3,726 votes which was 2.1% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Dr Parasa Venkata Rathnaiah of TDP won this seat defeating Vinnamala Saraswathi of INC by a margin of 5,367 votes which was 3.36% of the total votes polled for the seat.
