In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Biyyapu Madhusudhan Reddy of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Bojjala Venkata Sudhir Reddy of TDP by a margin of 38,141 votes which was 19.46% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Gopala Krishna Reddy Bojjala of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Biyyapu Madhusudhan Reddy of YSRCP by a margin of 7,583 votes which was 4.12% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Gopalakrishna Reddy Bojjala of TDP won this seat defeating S C V Naidu of INC by a margin of 12,463 votes which was 7.64% of the total votes polled for the seat.
