In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Maddisetty Venugopal of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Kadiri Babu Rao of TDP by a margin of 39,057 votes which was 19.99% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Raghava Rao Sidda of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Buchepalli Shiva Prasad Reddy of YSRCP by a margin of 1,374 votes which was 0.75% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Buchepalli Siva Prasada Reddy of INC won this seat defeating Mannam Venkata Ramana of TDP by a margin of 13,390 votes which was 8.66% of the total votes polled for the seat.
