Demographic profile

There were a total of 3,09,316 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election, of which 1,50,641 were male, 1,58,615 female and 60 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,92,162 registered voters, of which 1,50,641 were male, 1,48,371 female and 47 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 2,58,859 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,28,274 were male, 1,30,553 female and 32 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 2,19,118 which included 1,07,373 male, and 1,11,745 female.

In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Drchevireddy Bhaskar Reddy of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Pullivarthi Venkata Mani Prasad @Nani of TDP by a margin of 41,755 votes which was 18.3% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Arunakumari Galla of TDP by a margin of 4,518 votes which was 2.19% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Aruna Kumari Galla of INC won this seat defeating R K Roja of TDP by a margin of 10,980 votes which was 6.43% of the total votes polled for the seat.
