In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, K Chennakesava Reddy of YSRCP won in this constituency beating B Jaya Nageswara Reddy of TDP by a margin of 25,610 votes which was 14.14% of the total votes cast. In 2014, B Jayanageswara Reddy of TDP was the winner in this seat beating K Jagan Mohan Reddy of YSRCP by a margin of 14,361 votes which was 8.61% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, K Chenna Kesava Reddy of INC won this seat defeating B V Mohan Reddy of TDP by a margin of 2,323 votes which was 1.8% of the total votes polled for the seat.
