Demographic profile

There were a total of 2,43,249 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election, of which 1,19,947 were male, 1,23,257 female and 45 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,27,395 registered voters, of which 1,19,947 were male, 1,14,154 female and 38 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 2,20,367 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,10,167 were male, 1,10,167 female and 33 of the third gender. In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, K Chennakesava Reddy of YSRCP won in this constituency beating B Jaya Nageswara Reddy of TDP by a margin of 25,610 votes which was 14.14% of the total votes cast. In 2014, B Jayanageswara Reddy of TDP was the winner in this seat beating K Jagan Mohan Reddy of YSRCP by a margin of 14,361 votes which was 8.61% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, K Chenna Kesava Reddy of INC won this seat defeating B V Mohan Reddy of TDP by a margin of 2,323 votes which was 1.8% of the total votes polled for the seat.
