In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Puppala Srinivasarao (Vasubabu) of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Ganni Veeranjaneyulu of TDP by a margin of 33,153 votes which was 19.07% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Ganni Veeranjaneyulu of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Puppala Srinivasa Rao (Vasubabu) of YSRCP by a margin of 8,930 votes which was 5.49% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Vatti Vasant Kumar of INC won this seat defeating Ganni Laxmi Kantam of TDP by a margin of 6,459 votes which was 4.28% of the total votes polled for the seat.
