In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Gorantla Butchaiah Choudary of TDP won in this constituency beating Akula Veerraju of YSRCP by a margin of 10,404 votes which was 5.51% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Akula Veerraju of YSRCP by a margin of 18,058 votes which was 10.77% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Chandana Ramesh of TDP won this seat defeating Ravanam Swami Naidu of PRAP by a margin of 1,547 votes which was 1.12% of the total votes polled for the seat.
