In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Dr Nimmala Ramanaidu of TDP won in this constituency beating Dr Satyanarayana Murty Chavatapalli @Drbabji of YSRCP by a margin of 17,809 votes which was 11.39% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Dr Nimmala Ramanaidu of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Meka Seshu Babu of YSRCP by a margin of 6,383 votes which was 4.49% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Usha Rani Bangaru of INC won this seat defeating Konidala Chiranjeevi of PRAP by a margin of 5,446 votes which was 4.17% of the total votes polled for the seat.
