In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Jogeswara Rao V of TDP won in this constituency beating Pilli Subhas Chandra Bose of YSRCP by a margin of 10,600 votes which was 5.69% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Jogeswara Rao V of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Girajala Venkata Swamy Naidu of YSRCP by a margin of 36,014 votes which was 20.99% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Jogeswara Rao V of TDP won this seat defeating Chowdary Vvss of PRAP by a margin of 17,440 votes which was 11.16% of the total votes polled for the seat.
