Other Andhra Pradesh Assembly constituencies adjacent to Kodumur are: Yemmiganur, Alur, Pattikonda, Panyam, Kurnool, Nandikotkur (SC). This constituency shares an inter-state border with: Telangana.

Demographic profile

There were a total of 2,41,923 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Kodumuru Assembly election, of which 1,21,201 were male, 1,20,708 female and 14 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,16,212 registered voters, of which 1,21,201 were male, 1,06,992 female and 6 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 2,03,954 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,02,020 were male, 1,01,922 female and 12 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 1,71,633 which included 84,503 male, and 87,130 female.

In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Jaradoddi Sudhakar of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Burla Ramanjaneyulu of TDP by a margin of 36,045 votes which was 21.46% of the total votes cast. In 2014, M Mani Gandhi of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Madharapu Renukamma of BJP by a margin of 52,384 votes which was 34.4% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Parigela Murali Krishna of INC won this seat defeating M Mani Gandhi of TDP by a margin of 5,325 votes which was 4.25% of the total votes polled for the seat.
