There were a total of 2,26,765 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Kandukuru Assembly election, of which 1,12,304 were male, 1,14,437 female and 24 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,18,961 registered voters, of which 1,12,304 were male, 1,09,908 female and 24 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 1,94,679 registered voters in this constituency, of which 97,174 were male, 97,503 female and 2 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 1,85,120 which included 91,234 male, and 93,886 female.

In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Maheedhar Reddy Manugunta of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Pothula Rama Rao of TDP by a margin of 14,936 votes which was 7.62% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Pothula Ramarao of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Divi Sivaram of TDP by a margin of 3,806 votes which was 2.2% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Maheedhar Reddy Manugunta of INC won this seat defeating Divi Siva Ram of TDP by a margin of 4,243 votes which was 2.74% of the total votes polled for the seat.
