There were a total of 2,00,876 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election, of which 96,427 were male, 1,04,439 female and 10 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,08,393 registered voters, of which 96,427 were male, 1,07,891 female and 19 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 1,97,388 registered voters in this constituency, of which 96,466 were male, 1,00,907 female and 15 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 1,80,560 which included 87,172 male, and 93,388 female.

In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao (Nani) of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Devineni Avinash of TDP by a margin of 19,479 votes which was 11.6% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao (Nani) of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Raavi Venkateswara Rao of TDP by a margin of 11,537 votes which was 7.28% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao ( Nani ) of TDP won this seat defeating Pinnamaneni Venkateswara Rao of INC by a margin of 17,630 votes which was 11.92% of the total votes polled for the seat.
