In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, K Narayana Swamy of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Anaganti Harikrishna of TDP by a margin of 45,594 votes which was 26.4% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Narayanaswamy of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Kuthuhalam Gummadi of TDP by a margin of 20,565 votes which was 13.21% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Kuthuhalam Gummadi of INC won this seat defeating Gandhi of TDP by a margin of 10,826 votes which was 7.93% of the total votes polled for the seat.
